Analytics & Tracking
A business-friendly explanation of GA4, Google Tag Manager and Meta Pixel, including how they work together and what should be tested.
Analytics and advertising tools are often discussed together, but they do not perform the same job. A reliable setup starts by defining the business events that need to be measured.
GA4 helps you understand website activity such as page views, traffic sources, engagement and configured conversion events. It is mainly used for analysis and reporting.
Google Tag Manager provides a controlled way to deploy and manage many tracking tags without editing application code for every small change. It still requires planning, permissions and testing.
Meta Pixel sends browser-based events to Meta. Conversion API can send selected server-side events and may improve measurement resilience when implemented correctly. The two should be deduplicated when they report the same conversion.
Tracking should not be installed only because a platform provides a code snippet. It should be connected to real decisions such as which campaign produces qualified enquiries and where visitors abandon a form.
